GC Valves is updating our part numbering nomenclature to reflect the coil class insulation being supplied. To remain UL compliant, we are required to show this insulation class change in our nomenclature by changing the “F” and “N” insulation class identifiers to “H.” As of 10/1/2025, our nomenclature reflects this change.

Why this is changing?

In recent years, we have supplied “N” class coils while our part numbers continued to show “F” class nomenclature for general purpose valves and “N” for CFA Series valves. “N” class insulation is no longer available, which has required us to move to a Class “H” insulation system.

What’s changing in the part number?

The 6th character in the part number for general purpose valves and 7th character for NSF Approved & CFA Series valves will change to “H.”

Examples:

S211GF02N5DG4 will be replaced by S211GH02N5DG4

NS711YF16C9FG9 will be replaced by NS711YH16C9FG9

SC911YN24VFBA5 will be replaced by SC911YH24VFBA5

What’s not changing?
Valve performance will be identical to what you have used in the past.
Insulation class temperature ratings (for reference)

F Class: 155°C (311°F)

H Class: 180°C (356°F)

N Class: 200°C (392°F)

If you see part numbers updated from “F” or “N” to “H” on your order, this is expected and correct.
For questions, please email technical@gcvalves.com or call (800)-828-0484.

Installing Threaded Composite Body Solenoid Valves

Solenoid valves with Nylon 6, PVC, or other engineered plastic body materials are light weight, chemically resistant and can be affordable. They are often used for drinking water or aggressive line fluids. Here are some tips to consider when installing them:

1 – use composite pipe fittings to avoid thread damage

2 — tighten fittings to hand tight plus ¼ turn (by hand or with a strap wrench)

3 – choose a pipe sealant compatible with PPO plastic compounds and use it sparingly; avoid Teflon tape

4 — use mounting brackets to prevent stress-induced valve failure caused by the weight of the valve and associated piping.

Installing True Union Solenoid Valves

1 — place the outer plastic fittings on the pipe

2 — apply pipe sealant to the pipe thread

3 — install the stainless-steel NPT end connectors to the pipe and tighten until they are leak-tight

4 — place the O-rings fully in the recesses on the ends of the valve body

5 — position the valve and attach outer plastic fittings; sealant is not needed.

6 — hand tighten the plastic fittings until secure, no wrench necessary

Your GC Valves authorized distributor or the region office can answer any questions about installation and service.

Canadian Registration Numbers CRNs can be required on pressure equipment in Canada. Each province issues its own CRN. Follow the link to view the site that features our valve listings, ranging from 3/8″ to 2″ ports.
Produce Misting Systems

Food & Beverage Equipment

Restaurant Equipment

Reverse Osmosis Systems

What’s important?

Our end-to-end dimensions and threads are identical to the

ASCO NPT thread version

We have the most popular ½” & ¾” pipe sizes

Agency approvals: NSF/ANSI/CAN-61 & 372, UL, CSA, CE

What’s better about our True Union valves?

Stainless steel fittings with wrench flats

More soft seal choices than the ASCO – for water, air & gases, chemicals & light oils, vacuum, and other line fluids

Plated operators are available for aggressive line fluids

Junction Box Housings, in addition to DIN and Conduit Hub

8 and 10-watt coil options for T20 & T21 facilitate higher pressures and normally open operation

Zero-pressure differential versions for the atmospheric tank draining, closed-loop systems, and similar applications
